Winemaker's Notes: The cooler climate of the Carneros region allows us to produce a Merlot which is true to the varietal's characteristics. The longer growing season allows the fruit to reach maturity slowly, giving us fruit which is soft and elegant, yet rich and full flavored. Elegant aromas of boysenberry and black cherry join with nuances of vanilla and plum. These aromas lead to a soft and supple mouth-feel, rich with blackberry and toffee flavors. Hints of spice and cranberry are supported by moderate tannins for a smooth finish. Our favorite pairings for this wine include chicken cacciatore, Cornish game hen, and parmesan risotto.
