Dry, lively wine, slightly petillant, with a slightnose of golden delicious apples and a hint of honey. The taste is harmonious and lasting.

Review:
This is simply one of the worst Chardonnays I've ever had in my life. For something that is traditionally a "dry" wine, it sure tastes watered down...to the point of preposterous (one shouldn't call this a Chardonnay). The one I had was a 2010 Veneto Orientale; so if you are still eager to try this glass of gold hued water...at the very least, stay away from this one. It is horribly overpriced for the value, IMHO.

Winemaker's Notes: This straw yellow wine displays precise and intense scents of white fruits (particularly pears and Golden Delicious apples) as well as delicate spicy notes. The consistency of a red grape variety - evident in spite of the wine’s lack of tannins and the fact that it is vinified in the same way as a white wine – as well as its marked, penetrating tanginess are the hallmarks of its particular taste profile, making this a wine with a very distinctive personality and surprising versatility.

In 1981 Santa Margherita presented its own Chardonnay, a new, fine white wine with a different style. It had a younger, fruitier taste than the other Chardonnay available, which generally favoured the use of malolactic fermentation and a finishing process in French oak cask.

After soft pressing, the must is left to ferment for 15 days at 18 C. The wine is then stored at a controlled temperature of 15 - 16 C. in special stainless-steel tanks until bottling.

Food pairing
A versatile wine, excellent as an aperitif, suitable for a light or vegetarian meal, and with fish. Excellent with crudits but also with more elaborate dishes such as fish risotto.
