This is a rich, soft and flavoursome red in the traditional McLaren Vale style. Mulberry and plum flavours from the Grenache combine with the blackberry, spice and white pepper of the Shiraz. Best served at room temperature, this wine will gain added complexity with careful cellaring over the next 2 – 5 years.
d'Arenberg's The Stump Jump Shiraz is a good example of classic Aussie Shiraz, having made its home for over a hundred years in McLaren Vale. Wine Spectator notes, "Bright and jazzy, this is juicy with raspberry and cherry fruit." The Wine Advocate chimes in, "scented of ripe plums, blackberries and baking spices plus a touch of anise. Medium-bodied with lively acid, chewy tannins, and a medium-long finish."
