Whether you call it slightly sweet or off-dry, this Orvieto Classico "Abboccato" from Barbi in Umbria, Italy is delicious! Made from a traditional blend of local grapes, 40% Grechetto, 30% Procanico, 20% Verdello and Malvasia, and 10% Vermentino, it was vinified entirely in stainless steel, no oak. The result is a refined, elegant and harmonious wine of delicate medium sweetness. Excellent with hors d'ouevres, vegetable casseroles, thicker cuts of fish. The Barbi winery was established in 1932 and since has been dedicated to quality and championing the indigenous grapes of Umbria and Bayway is happy to offer you this great example of Orvieto Classico!
Producer
The history of the Barbi winery in Corbara di Orvieto goes back to 1932 when Enzo Barbi established his family winery with the objective to produce only quality wines. In the heart of the Orvieto Classico region, the Barbis own an estate that consists of 55 hectares, 32 of which are devoted to vineyards.
