"Hailing from a region that is deeply rooted in Malbec, it is no surprise that Don Miguel Gascon wines similarly revolve around the now-famous Bordeaux grape. However, before introducing Malbec varietal wines, Don Miguel crafted distinctive red blends from a variety of Argentine grapes. This wine has been brought back to life through our new Malbec-led Red Blend, Colosal: a blend of Malbec, Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. As today's esteemed Don Miguel Gascon Winemaker Ernesto says, "Colosal embodies the time-honored winemaking history of Don Miguel Gascon wines: the [flavor] intensity reflects its original strength when it was first released, which is softened by the elegance and finesse that distinguishes our wines today." Our Don Miguel Gascon Colosal Red Blend showcases the deeper, richer side of Bodegas Escorihuela Gascon. Distinctive flavors of dark blackberry, ripe plum and dark cherry meld with hints of oak, chocolate and mint for a big, bold, Colosal wine." - Winery Notes
|Today, the wines of Don Miguel Gascon are crafted in the City of Mendoza at the same winery that was built by the Spanish visionary whose name bears it. Begun in 1884, the winery is an historic landmark in the history of Argentine winemaking, yet it houses some of the most advanced winemaking technology in the world. Our winery is also the home of 1884, an award-winning restaurant operated by world renowned Chef Francis Mallman.
