This delightful red Graves greets you with dark fruit aromas mixed with light herbal and floral notes. On the palate it is lithe and supple, with the fruit and herbs combining with elements of roses and violets as well as typical Graves minerality, bringing a lovely complexity. The low level of perceptible oak aids its overall freshness. Its soft texture and long fruit-filled finish makes this an all-purpose red that needs no food at all or pairs with steak au poivre, grilled sausages, or shish kebob. Light on its feet for an assemblage of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc. Graves remains a bastion of traditional Bordeaux, honest and not shaped to suit current fashions.
