Negroamaro is one of southern Italy's most important grapes. When grown and vinified correctly it makes wines which are both fruity and perfumed with the underlying structure needed to pair excellently with a broad range of fuller meat based dishes. We loved the "Flaio" Negroamaro for its gentle web of tannin which supports the softer cherry, raspberry to light strawberry fruit flavors. It has a wonderful peppery kick as well as elements of pine and dried grasses. It's a rare occasion when we find a wine with this kind of balance and personality at this price and when we do we want to share it with you!
