Mas des Capitelles is an old family property, in the middle of the Faugeres appellation of the Languedoc in Southern France. The property follows biodynamic principles. Ploughing is performed several times a year and of course no chemical fertilizer is used on the estate. The 2011 La Catiede bottling is composed of 50% Carignan, 20% Grenache Noir, 20% Mourvedre, and 10% Syrah. The grapes are hand harvested and vinified without any oak influence. The resulting wine is a prime example of the powerful, mineral driven and natural wine that come from the schistous soils of Faugeres. It is very floral with accents of olive pits laid upon a foundation of velvety black fruits. Made with certified organically grown grapes.
