Sainte-Croix-du-Mont is a very small appellation, and is far less well-known than nearby Sauternes and Loupiac, even among French wine drinkers. However, the wines can be superb and their lack of recognition may in some instances make them excellent values. This is one such case! Made from 95% Semillon, 5% Muscadelle, it has a round and pliant mouth feel with great balance. A clear flavor of licorice accompanies serene peach, apricot fruit, light and fresh in body, an extremely versatile dessert wine as well as aperitif.
