This supple, complex red was outstanding at a recent tasting. It was rated 92 points in THE WINE ADVOCATE, with the following review: "The 2008 Sant Gall is a blend of 50% Manto Negro, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah aged for 12 months in seasoned French and American oak. Exotic spices, a hint of balsamic, fresh herbs, blueberry, and assorted black fruits inform the nose of this savory, sweetly-fruited, elegant, lengthy offering. On the palate notes of smoked game and mineral emerge capping a wine that over-delivers in a big way. Drink this outstanding value over the next 5-6 years. Vinicola Biniagual's two brilliant efforts come from the obscure (for wine) region of Mallorca with the focus on the indigenous Manto Negro grape."
