One might expect Chateauneuf-du-Pape at this price to be on the light/meager side, but this one stunned us all: big, rich, and very ripe. The generous aromas speak of red and black fruit, with a just a touch of herbs/garrigue. On the palate, the 2010 Domaine Barville is full-bodied, very concentrated and supple, full of the aforementioned fruit, and long on the finish. THE WINE ADVOCATE concurs: "Superb", 91-93 points, "Cellar it for 3-4 years and drink it over the following 20-25." But we're of the "Ars longa, vita brevis" school, so we'd say you should enjoy it while you may, perhaps cellar for a few years, longer if you will and can.
