On the fuller side of medium body, this is one of prettier bottles of American Merlot we've tasted in a while, and the price sealed the deal. With lovely fruit aromas, especially plum, hints of cherry and chocolate, the aromas are good enough to merit putting the Revelry Merlot in a large Bordeaux/Cabernet glass and swirling it to get the full sense of it. On the palate it's on the fuller side of medium body without being an alcohol-loaded fruit bomb. Well balance, long on the finish, a real gem at this modest price, likely to remind us that really good American Merlots do exist, though seldom under $20.
