Vinous 93 points - Bright, full ruby. Lovely high-pitched aromas of black cherry, violet and licorice. Very sweet and highly concentrated, with perfectly harmonious acidity giving focus to the restrained blackberry and violet flavors. Doesn’t offer quite the supersweetness of Graham’s classic vintage port but there’s still an almost candied quality to the fruit. Very rich, very supple wine with fine-grained, extremely suave tannins and terrific sneaky length. A sexy note of Benedictine-like medicinal herbs gives piquant lift to the finish. One of my favorites of the vintage.
Wine Spectator 94 points - Elegant, creamy and full of silky tannins, this voluptuous Port offers flavors of violet, plum and blackberry, with hints of golden raisin. The plush finish features spice, chocolate and butterscotch notes. Best from 2016 through 2036. 1,500 cases made. –KM (Apr 30 2012)
