This was our panel's unanimous choice for a fine red at a reasonable price - aromatic, with lots of black fruit in the nose and on the palate, round, almost sumptuous with just a touch of tannin on the finish to make it work with red meat. The Wine Advocate concurs, rating it 90 points and raving: "... a cuvee of Syrah with a bit of Grenache, matured in aged barrique. Scents of cassis and dark cherry are tinged with salted caramel and high-toned evocations of kirsch and herbal liqueur. Polished and lush yet satisfyingly juicy ... Savor - and shake your head over - this incredible value for the next 3-4 years."
