This seems to offer the best of both worlds: something between Malbec from its origin (Bordeaux/Cahors), and the version from its adoptive land, Argentina. It's as velvety and juicy as the Argentine Malbecs, but without the tobacco and leather tones that are common in those wines. Silky and sumptuous, the Marc Roman offers concentrated red and black fruit, particularly plum. Unlike Malbec from Cahors, this displays very little tannin - one might describe it in Parkerese as "hedonistic" - pure pleasure, no need to cellar.
|Wine maker notes
|Rich, full bodied yet easy drinking red from our excellent sources in the South of France. A great every day red! If you like Shiraz or Merlot, or Malbec from Argentina, you will love this wine.
|Marc Roman wines are grown in the sun drenched vineyards of Southern France and carefully selected and blended to our specifications by our own winemaker. Both wines; a rich, smooth malbec and a refreshing fruity, dry terret, will make any meal more enjoyable.
Marc Roman is the “nickname” of our winemaker who lives among the vineyards of Southern France near Montpellier. “Roman” hails to the Roman history of the vineyards in this part of France, still evident today in the many frescoes and ruins that can be found in the vineyards. Our bottling facility is state of the art to preserve the fresh healthy fruit in our wines and we have chosen twist tops to avoid all cork taint and off odor or flavor.
