This one blew me away. Both food-friendly and powerful on its own. Nose has cherry and smoke, a hint of mint; fruit on the palate turns into serious structure, good acidity, notable tannins, but not overpowering the fruit. Lingering with a nice ripeness. It's been a long time since I had a wine under 10 dollars of this quality.
