Powerful aromas on the nose of red and black fruits: raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, which continues in the mouth. Ripe tannins are supported by the fruit flavors. A soft and easy wine to drink now or within two years. Tasting temperature: 61-63°F.
Is the 2012 even more concentrated than the 2011 (described here)? - It may well be. This stylish, highly complex Malbec offers aromas and flavors of ripe red and black fruits with hints of smoke and chocolate. Medium-to full-bodied, with a long, rich finish. Still young, it would benefit from an hour's aeration in a pitcher/decanter, bringing out the full range of its flavors. Serve with steaks, roasts, or rich meat dishes such as Boeuf Bourgignon or other stews.
|Wine maker notes
|Pigmentum is a Latin word meaning “thing that gives color”, the origin of the English word “Pigment”. Therefore, Pigmentum reminds us the Roman origins of our wines as well as its very dark color, which is the main character of the Malbec. This cuvee is made from Malbec grapes that grow in the area of Cahors, bordering the “Lot” river.
|Pigmentum is a wine based on the fruit and on the elegance of its tannins. It is a perfect accompaniment for red meat and goat cheese, but it is also recommended to be enjoyed by itself.
