Palish cherry-red. Wonderfully scented nose leads with the rose petal perfume I associate with this grand cru. Supple on entry, then quite closed in the middle. Conveys a sense of sweetness and fullness but without any undue weight. Ultimately silky, suave and classically dry, this really coats the mouth with red fruit and floral flavors. Finishes with a subtle floral character that titillates the taste buds. This is always an intriguing wine chez Bertagna, but does this vintage have enough mid-palate flesh to make a truly outstanding bottle?
