Gigondas is a red wine similar to Chateauneuf-du-Pape, though not as pricey. Mostly Grenache, it must also include at least 15% Syrah and/or Mourvedre, plus, also like Chateauneuf, a bit of some other local varieties. Deep-colored, big, round, and smooth, this is an excellent red to pair with red/white meats and cheese.
