The wine has a pale straw color with hints of green reflects at the edge of the glass. The bubbles are tiny and very elegant. Its aromas are very fruity with a hint of biscuits, hazelnuts and flowers. This sparkling wine is elegantly balanced, complex and well structured with a long an crisp mineral finish. With great acidity and balance, food choices are endless including fruit and nuts, game, salads, pastas or an aperitif. Gerard Bertrand is well-known for producing fantastic wines at excellent prices. Wine Enthusiast recently announced Gerard Bertrand the "European Winery of the Year" stating, "Both landowner and partner of the best winegrowers in the South of France, Gerard Bertrand manages over 325 hectares of vineyards across varying Languedoc terroirs. He fully understands the movement toward expressive, well-balanced and elegant wines that remain accessible and affordable."
Producer
From the discovery of the Tautavel man to the Roman hegemony in Narbonne, via the Visigoth occupation and the Cathar heresy, Languedoc-Roussillon’s past is steeped in rich history. At the beginning of the 20th Century, a phylloxera epidemic, coupled with overproduction and widespread fraud, wrought havoc for winegrowers, who subsequently decided to revolt. Since the 1950s the wines of the Languedoc have become increasingly refined, and the best estates now produce wines of truly exceptional quality. Gerard Bertrand is determined to drive this progress even further, through continued innovation and by creating internationally-renowned appellations and wines.
