The 2011 Foucher-Lebrun "Le Mont" struck us all as the very quintessence of what we look for in Sancerre: concentrated citrus fruit, plus a touch of riper tropical fruit, with clear minerality that serves as a counterpoint. From the first sniff to the long crisp finish, this is a memorable Sancerre, and the price seemed very low for the quality level. Serve with shrimp, oysters, scallops, crab, or even lobster.
