Really good Pinot at a great price is increasingly hard to find. Reasons: it takes a special climate and soil, it's a grape that's hard to grow well, tricky to vinify, and, finally, Pinot is "hot". The cool coastal region of Casablanca is Chile's answer to our Sonoma Coast, a perfect Pinot terroir. Medium-bodied, with aromas and concordant flavors of bright cherry and red berry fruit. Some tannin on the finish and good balance make it a surprisingly "complete" wine for the modest price.
